About the Book and Audience

The book presents concepts in nanobiotechnology and their approaches towards food and biomedical applications. The main focus of the book is the application of nanobiotechnology for food packaging, food safety, detection of pathogens in food, diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases. The first part of the book covers the role of nanobiotechnology in food technology, and the second part covers the nanobiotechnological applications shaping the biomedical technology.

The book serves as a reference material for the researchers and postgraduate students in the fields of biotechnology, food technology, nanobiotechnology, biomedical and interdisciplinary sciences.

About the Editors

Dr. Prakash Saudagar received his PhD from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India. He is currently working as Assistant Professor at NIT Warangal, India. His research interest is in the area of infectious diseases as well as cell, molecular and biochemical parasitology, with a focus on identifying new drug target proteins and nanobiotechnology for drug delivery. He is the recipient of Young Scientist award by Telangana Academy of Sciences and also an elected associate fellow of the Academy. He has to his credit many research articles in highly reputed international journals.

Dr. Divakar received his M.S (research) and PhD in biotechnology from Centre for Biotechnology, Anna University, India. He is currently faculty at Department of Biotechnology, NIT Warangal, India. He is an expert in the field of fermentation, protein purification and enzymology. His research interests include industrial microbiology and metagenomics for biocatalysts from environmental microbiome. He is an elected associate fellow of Telangana Academy of Sciences (2015). His research has been published in many reputed international journals.
