Author Guidelines

Please refer to the following general guidelines while preparing your work. If you need further clarification, please write an email to editor@centralwestpublishing.com

  • Microsoft Word is the preferred format for the text.
  • The figures and artwork should be submitted in .jpg or .tiff formats in high resolution.
  • Each chapter manuscript should have a title, author(s) information including physical and email addresses, along with table of contents. A conclusions/outlook section summarizing the whole work should be provided, whereas an abstract is not needed. The author(s) should appropriately decide about the chapter sections and sub-sections.
  • The chapters should be prepared using Times New Roman font, 12 font size and 1.5 line spacing. Any other formatting or design should be avoided as the chapters would be edited and formatted by the editor and publisher.
  • The chapter should generally contain 10,000 words, including references.
  • Originality is taken seriously by Central West Publishing. Unless you have obtained permissions for the re-use of your earlier published work, it is expected that the chapters are original and contain unpublished information.
  • Chapter sections should be listed as 1.1, 1.1.1, etc. However, numbering beyond three levels should be avoided.
  • Following reference styles should be used:
    • Article: William, V. M., and Schneider, P. S. (2012) The role of science in society. The Journal of Publishing, 10(1), 19-22.
    • Book: William, V. M., and Schneider, P. S. (2017) Polymer Nanocomposites, 2nd volume, 3rd edition, Wiley VCH, Germany.
    • Book chapter: William, V. M., and Mohan, P. K. (2017) This is my book chapter title. In: Polymer Nanocomposites, Schneider, P. S., and George, Y. U. (eds.), 3rd edition, Wiley, Germany, pp. 1-21.

    • Conference 2: William, V. M. (2017) The Role of Nanocomposites. 68th Annual Conference, USA, pp. 1-21.
  • The names of all authors must be mentioned while preparing the references. No ‘et al.’ should be used in the reference list.
  • The references should be cited in the text as [1,2,3-5]. The references can also be cited as William and Schneider [1] (if two authors) or Schneider et al. [3] (if more than two authors).
  • Credits for using the tables and figures from the published literature should be provided in the captions as “Reproduced from Reference 4 with permission from American Chemical Society”.
  • It is author’s responsibility to organize the copyright permissions for using the figures, tables and text excerpts from the published literature. The author should have obtained these permissions before submitting the chapter to the editor or publisher.
  • Index is an important component of the book as it helps the readers to locate the particular topic in the book. Authors should provide 15-20 words or phrases which they would like to see in the index of the book. Any sub-items to be placed under the main words or phrases are also most welcome.
